Pollie & Garry Uttley
Pollie and Garry Uttley first visited India in November 1995 and in February 2008, returned from their eleventh visit. During that time, Indian tribal textiles have proved to be a constant source of inspiration for their ceramics. Their response to the textiles develops constantly as do the many techniques they now use. Their latest ceramic work uses raku, impressed decoration, stencils, lustres, mono & screen printing, sheesha glass & coins to produce the richly decorated wall panels that continue to echo the vitality of the Indian patchwork quilts.
